Dayton Taste in Trotwood

Those collard green egg rolls are like no other! And the blue cheese dressing is homemade and absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere and they have live bands every weekend.

I was there celebrating the All White experience with my best friend Clair and we danced together with the crowd and it was great music, drinks were served and the whole evening was full of laughter and the atmosphere was charged with positive vibes. This was a night to always remember! The DJ Ron Hunter Kept the beats jumping a d Stan The Man McKnight made me feel like Royalty! Shout out to the Taste keep hosting the bomb events!

Last few times for events hosted here...service was terrible (literally almost had words with a server, b/c I was upcharged for a drink I never told her to make that way.She was too busy flirting with the guys at the next table to pay attention. Then took forever to run our cards); live music band was soo loud our server couldn't hear us. Ended up leaving; Food, used to be good when they first opened; Went to a kappa event, they upcharged shots all night. $17.00 for 1 shot of 1738....bye. I try to support my friends & their events, but if they're here...they know I will NOT be in attendance.

The service was great and the food was delicious. The Dayton Funk Band was outstanding.

Love the atmosphere, quite, low key, great food, will be going back. This is a great place to go and have drinks and good food.

Some friends and I drove and hour to eat at the Taste and we were not disappointed. I had the collard greens egg roll. All I can say is OMG!!! The food was great, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was great. This night they had a DJ but some nights they have live music. If you are ever in Dayton stop by the Taste.

Went here for a taco Tuesday. Tacos were really good. Both the beef and chicken. They are both dressed different but yummy. I got there early before the karaoke. Next I will be back for the wing night.

Atmosphere was nice, food was good and service was very attentive. We were there for a wedding reception great choice.

The service sucked. We had to keep asking the waitress for things that she should have asked us if we needed. She was NOT friendly. The prices are to high. Items in the menu were not available. We were not offered a drink menu. It was 6:30 and place was not setup. Someone was vacuuming the floor. The ONLY good thing was the collard eggrolls!

The atmosphere is great but the prices are way too high for the area. I got there one night after the kitchen had closed and ordered a shot of Patron which cost me 9 bucks! It's a very high end space with a dance floor and full bar which seems great for events but as of this moment it's more of special occasion restaurant than one that I would make a regular visit of.

Bad news: service is consistently poor, menu is unimaginative and lacks variety. Good news: The live music and chill atmosphere. Sit at the bar because you'll get more attentive service. Enjoy the music, order a beer...chill...enjoy.

The food is great, the service on the other hand not so much. The waitresses are rude it took forever for our food to come out. They really need to work on their people skills or find new workers. That experience was such a turn off.

The menu is small, but the food was great. I had the ribeye steak and side salad, and my husband had the catfish dinner. Both were delicious! The collard green egg rolls we also a delicious appetizer.

I get to eat here a lot since I work close by. I got to say their service is always great and they keep the spot neat all the time. Rates are convenient and they serve sizeable portions.

Great service, great decor, great drinks and great fried tomatoes. Don't try the mac n cheese.

Went to a ugly Christmas sweater party it was very fun. Great environment, awesome DJ I really enjoyed the event.

And they want you to support black businesses and they treat you like that. The staff is rude just like at John Anthony's Southern Resturant which is next door. The staff should be trained on how to be waitresses and waiters instead of just grabbing someone off the street with now manners.

Wanted the experience to be good but it was not. The service was extremely slow and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. When our server finally came over to get our drinks, it took forever for her to come back with the drinks. Then it took forever for her to come back and take our order. After Taking our order, it took over an hour for the food to come out. Shrimp and grits was good. Then not too long after we get our food, someone that we suspect was the manager, tells us that they have a private party coming in and we have to leave the seats where we were. We were told that there was no rush, but we could move to other seats on the other side of the restaurant. And we were told that they are under new management. What did the previous management look like? Not a good experience.

Always a nice place to hang out with friends and have a drink. Shout out to Camilla the bartender. She's fun and encourages the customers to interact. Makes the place more fun and engaging.

Comedy Explosion was great!

Jason, the owner, greeted us as we arrived and sat us. (He makes one helluva margarita) The atmosphere is welcoming and the food makes you feel just as welcomed. The Lemon Pepper Taste wings had me dancing in my seat. Mmm... And then my Shrimp and Grits came out along with the Greens. To die for. Camala will make you feel as if you are family.

I REALLY hate to do this but, this place is always out of everything! Here out of liquor - including their signature cocktail and signature dishes. Further, none of my drinks came in glasses and their portions are small! I'm too old to drink out of plastic unless it's a cookout. *sigh* It really saddens me bc I really want to support black businesses but, service and availability are important to me. My dollar is just as green as everyone else's. This is not based on one visit either. I hope they pull it together. I wish them the best but, I, and none of my friends will be back.

Brunch buffet was very tasty!

The service here is extremely slow and disorganized. The food is sub par at best. The bartender was our waitress so she was not attentive or organized. It took her 30 minutes to bring our bill. We just paid it, although she overcharged us. Our service was very slow and all of our food was not received at the same time. Once my burger arrived after everyone else's food, it was undercooked. The only thing that was tasty at our table were the fries, ribs, sweet potatoes and chicken wings. 5 different menu items were unavailable. The atmosphere was dreary. This was once a cool spot, Not anymore! Our experience was disappointing and we will not return.

I love smoking cigars on the patio

I go to the Taste every year for a Sagittarius birthday. It's classy and tasty.
